Le Fiat 124 Spider sono conosciute come auto belle e divertenti, ma avevano la tendenza ad essere distrutte quasi all'istante se sottoposte alle intemperie del Nord e ai trattamenti stradali. Fortunatamente, questa Fiat 124 Spider del 1977, ha trascorso la maggior parte della sua vita a Roma, ed è ora all'asta, il che rende credibile il fatto che sia nelle condizioni in cui dovrebbe essere. La riverniciatura sembra essere stata ben curata.
Fino al 1978, le Fiat 124 Spider erano equipaggiate con un quattro cilindri in linea da 1.756 cc con testata a doppio albero a camme in testa a flussi incrociati. Gli esempi della fine degli anni '70 utilizzavano originariamente ancora un singolo carburatore Weber e il venditore riferisce che il motore, nonostante sia stato modificato, si accende immediatamente senza problemi e funziona bene indipendentemente dalla temperatura. La trasmissione è manuale a cinque marce e il venditore nota che cambia bene tutte le marce

Fiat 124 Spiders are known as beautiful and entertaining cars, but they tended to be destroyed almost instantly when subjected to the North weather and road treatments. Luckily, this 1978 Fiat 124 Spider spent most its life in Rome, and is now up for auction, making it even more remarkable that it’s in the condition it appears to be in. With no rust visible in the provided photos, and bright, red paintwork, it looks to have been well cared (even if modified) for its entire life.
Up through 1978, Fiat 124 Spiders were equipped with a 1,756-cc inline four-cylinder with a double-overhead-cam, crossflow cylinder head. Examples from the late 1970s still utilized a single Weber carburetor, and the seller reports that the engine (even if it is modified) fires up immediately without issue and runs well regardless of temperature. The transmission is a five-speed manual, and the seller notes that it shifts well through all the gears
