L’auto conserva ancora le sue targhe originali di Alessandria d’Egitto
Questa Rolls Royce 25/30, posseduta da Re Farouk I d’Egitto e utilizzata in occasione delle nozze con la Principessa Farida, mantiene tutt’oggi le targhe originali (Prive Alx 12571) di Alessandria d’Egitto, personalizzate per il Monarca stesso. Re Farouk I aveva una vera passione per i bei pezzi e, nonostante avesse avuto auto lussuose e di gran moda in quegli anni, è con la Rolls Royce 25/30 che volle essere accompagnato il giorno del suo matrimonio con Farida d’Egitto.
L’auto è stata rifinita con pannelli Royal Red, mentre le superfici superiori della vettura, le ali e le ruote sono state verniciate in nero. L’interno era rivestito in Bedford Cord grigio chiaro, che conserva, con rivestimento in pelle grigio scuro per il vano anteriore. La lavorazione del legno era in massello lucidato, ancora in buono stato di conservazione. Mantenuta con colori originali degli interni, il motore è anch’esso originale, mentre l’impianto frenante è stato ricondizionato mantenendo le stesse caratteristiche di quello originale. I pneumatici sono nuovi con fascia bianca.
In particolare, la Rolls Royce 25/30 è una vettura costruita dal 1936 al 1938 e reincarna la 20/25 aggiornata però con un motore più grande che forniva più potenza. Il sei cilindri in linea a valvole in testa era di 4257cc. Il carburatore era singolo, Stromberg. Il telaio rivettato aveva assali anteriori e posteriori rigidi sospesi tramite molle e ammortizzatori. La frenata era servoassistita e il freno a mano agiva su freni dedicati. Insomma, mentre telaio e parti meccaniche erano realizzate da Rolls Royce, la carrozzeria è stata realizzata e montata da un carrozziere selezionato da Re Farouk I.

This Rolls Royce 25/30, owned by King Farouk I of Egypt and used on his wedding with Princess Farida, still retains the original plates (Prive Alx 12571) of Alexandria of Egypt, personalized for the Monarch himself. King Farouk, I had a real passion for beautiful pieces and, despite having had luxurious and very fashionable cars in those years, it was with the Rolls Royce 25/30 that he wanted to be accompanied on his wedding day with Farida of Egypt.
The car was finished with Royal Red panels, while the car's upper surfaces, wings and wheels were painted black. The interior was upholstered in light gray Bedford Cord, which it retains, with dark gray leather upholstery for the front compartment. The woodwork was in polished solid wood, still in good condition. Maintained with original interior colors, the engine is also original, while the braking system has been reconditioned maintaining the same characteristics as the original one. The tires are new with whitewall.
