La Lotus M100 Elan, presentata nell'agosto 1989, era un'auto sportiva decappottabile a due posti progettata da Lotus, con un affidabile motore giapponese e cambio manuale fornito da Isuzu, e costruita con le risorse di sviluppo e collaudo di General Motors. Nel suo sviluppo sono stati investiti circa 35 milioni di sterline, più di qualsiasi altra vettura nella storia Lotus. Il suo design, caratterizzato da un corpo composito in fibra di vetro su un telaio rigido in acciaio, era fedele alla filosofia originale del fondatore della Lotus Colin Chapman di ottenere prestazioni grazie al peso ridotto, e il nome Elan collegava l'auto con la sua antenata degli anni '60, l'originale Lotus Elan. The Lotus M100 Elan, launched in August 1989, was a two-seater, convertible sports car designed by Lotus, with a reliable Japanese engine and manual transmission supplied by Isuzu, and built with the development and testing resources of General Motors. Around £35 million was invested in its development,more than any other car in Lotus history. Its design, featuring a fibreglass composite body over a rigid steelbackbone chassis, was true to Lotus founder Colin Chapman's original philosophy of achievingperformance through low weight, and the name 'Elan' connected the car with its 1960s ancestor, the original Lotus Elan. This Lotus Elan S2, which has covered only 120.524 km., has been used as an 'occasional car'. Vendor says that she has always cherished it. The car is described as being in very good condition both inside and out and that it drives very well as a very fun car.
