La GT16 apparve per la prima volta nel 1931, connubio tra telaio e motore, con valvole laterali in testa, derivanti dal modello Sport 15, e la sospensione posteriore della GT. Dall’aspetto più moderno grazie al suo serbatoio a sella, la moto presentava un telaio posteriore molto più semplice, con un solo braccio oscillante superiore, su entrambi i lati della ruota posteriore. Anche il serbatoio dell'olio aveva la forma triangolare derivato della Sport 15. Poco più di settecento esemplari prodotti e venduti tra il 1931 e il 1934. Il modello proposto in asta è frutto di un sapiente e accurato restauro degli anni ’70, ottenuto dall’unione di parti provenienti da un GT16 per il telaio e da un GTS per il motore, le cui provenienze sono state rintracciate negli Archivi della Moto Guzzi

The GT 16 first appeared in 1931, a combination of chassis and engine, with overhead side valves, deriving from the Sport 15 model, and the rear suspension of the GT. Looking more modern thanks to its saddle tank, the bike featured a much simpler rear frame, with a single upper wishbone, either side of the rear wheel. Even the oil tank had the triangular shape derived from the Sport 15. Just over seven hundred examples produced and sold between 1931 and 1934. The model offered for auction is the result of a skillful and accurate restoration in the 70s, obtained from the union of parts from a GT 16 for the chassis and a GTS for the engine whose origins have been traced in the Moto Guzzi Archives.
