La ‘nuova’ Rolls Royce Phantom, di settima generazione, ripropone la regalità, il comfort, la presenza e il prestigio dei suoi predecessori. Meno di cinque anni dopo l'acquisizione di quello che è probabilmente il marchio automobilistico di lusso più famoso al mondo, BMW Group non solo ha progettato una nuovissima ammiraglia Rolls-Royce, ma ha anche eretto un impianto di produzione all'avanguardia nella tenuta di Goodwood all'interno del quale viene assemblata. Presentata il 1 gennaio 2003, la Phantom di settima generazione ha segnato un cambiamento tecnologico rispetto ai suoi predecessori, pur rimanendo inconfondibilmente una Rolls-Royce. Basata su un telaio spaceframe in alluminio estruso saldato a mano, rivestita con alluminio e pannelli compositi, la nuova arrivata presenta un sistema di sospensioni pneumatiche indipendenti altamente sofisticato montato su sotto telai in acciaio (doppio braccio oscillante anteriore/multilink posteriore), un servosterzo sensibile alla velocità e massicci freni a disco sulle quattro ruote. Sviluppando circa il settantacinque percento della sua coppia massima a soli 1.000 giri/min, il V12 da 6,75 litri è estremamente raffinato. Accreditata di circa 453 CV, la motorizzazione è abbinata al cambio automatico a sei velocità. Risultato, 0-100 km/h in 5,7 secondi e 240 km/h di velocità massima autolimitata. Molto controverso, lo stile è audace e spicca per originalità. I designer hanno dedicato soluzioni ‘da carrozza’, come le porte posteriori incernierate sul retro e gli interni ineguagliabili. In breve, BMW ha ridefinito il mercato delle auto di lusso. Negli Stati Uniti, la nuova Phantom è stata definita come 'The King of Cars'.

In particolare, l'auto offerta qui in asta, è verniciata poi nell’elegante tinta Contrast Silver, segna 115.805 km da nuova, è originaria della Russia e immatricolata in Italia da novembre 2021. Esemplare bellissimo senza dubbio alcuno.

Magnificent specimen painted in Contrast Silver

Extremely technological car (developed by BMW) and with a timeless design

The new Phantom (the seventh generation of the name), has the craftsmanship, comfort, presence, and prestige of its predecessors. Less than five years after acquiring what is arguably the world's most famous luxury car marque, the BMW Group had not only engineered a brand new Rolls-Royce flagship but also erected a state-of-the-art production facility on the Goodwood Estate within which to assemble it. Launched on January 1st 2003, the seventh generation Phantom marked a technological step change from its predecessors yet was still unmistakably a Rolls-Royce. Based around a hand-welded extruded aluminium spaceframe chassis clothed with aluminium and composite panels, the newcomer featured a highly sophisticated independent air suspension system mounted on steel subframes (double wishbone front / multi-link rear), as well as speed-sensitive power assisted steering and massive four-wheel disc brakes. Developing some seventy-five percent of its peak torque at just 1,000rpm, the bespoke 6.75 litre V12 was eerily refined. Quoted as developing some 453bhp and allied to six-speed automatic transmission, it gave the luxury saloon an improbable turn of speed with contemporary road testers achieving 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and 240 km/h. Initially contentious, the Phantom's bold styling lent it a road presence that rivals simply could not match. Although, reviewers devoted almost as much ink to its rear-hinged 'coach' doors, discretely-mounted Teflon-coated umbrellas and matchless interior. Put simply BMW re-defined the luxury car market with its first 'clean sheet' Rolls-Royce design. While labelling any car as 'the best in the world' is these days deemed anachronistic, our American cousins did hail the new Phantom as 'The King of Cars'. In particular, the car offered here at auction, is painted in Contrast Silver, it shows 115.805 kms from new, it is originally from Russia and Italian registered from November 2021. Very beautiful example, no doubts
